Coordinator Midwife Training was conducted by the Faculty Members of the Midwifery Department

Within the framework of the "Midwife for Every Pregnant Woman" application included in the Normal Birth Action Plan, a Coordinator Midwife Training was conducted under the coordination of the Child, Adolescent, Women and Reproductive Health Unit.

The training was organized by faculty members from the Midwifery Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University for personnel working as coordinator midwives in district health directorates and community health centers. A total of 37 personnel participated in the program.

The training program covered topics such as prenatal care standards, risk assessment processes, monitoring and preparation for childbirth in the last trimester of pregnancy, team and communication processes in coordinator midwifery, pregnancy in systemic diseases, pregnancy-related risky situations, depression, obstetric triage, normal postpartum monitoring, bleeding, lactation and breastfeeding problems. Within the scope of the program, training was provided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap Temiz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serap Öztürk Altınayak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Koç, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükran Başgöl, Dr. Lecturer Nuran Mumcu, Dr. Lecturer Şebnem Rüzgâr, Dr. Lecturer Yasemin Sökmen, Lecturer Dr. Neşe Karakaya, and Research Assistant Dr. Zeynep Barol.

The training aimed to strengthen the monitoring, evaluation, guidance, and communication skills of personnel serving as coordinator midwives in the pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods. The program made a significant contribution to increasing the effectiveness of coordinator midwife practices in protecting and improving maternal and infant health.
