Midwife Training with Scenario-Based Simulator

In collaboration with the Midwifery Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University, the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate Public Hospitals Services Department organized the “Midwife Training with Scenario-Based Simulator Support” event on November 26-27, 2025, as part of the Ministry of Health's initiative to strengthen midwifery education. The event was held on November 26-27, 2025, with the contributions of instructors Dr. Nuran MUMCU, Dr. Şebnem RÜZGAR, Lecturer Dr. Sümeyye BAL, and Research Assistant Dr. Zeynep BAROL.

A total of 34 midwives participated in the theoretical and practical training given at the application laboratory of the Midwifery Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University in Samsun, along with teaching staff from the Midwifery Department of Ondokuz Mayıs University and midwives working in Samsun city center and districts.

Educators included Dr. Nuran MUMCU, Assistant Professor, who conducted the ‘Scenario-based normal pregnancy/normal delivery simulation training’; Research Assistant Dr. Zeynep BAROL, who conducted the ‘Scenario-based normal newborn simulation training’; and Dr. Şebnem RÜZGAR, Assistant Professor, who conducted the ‘Scenario-based high-risk pregnancy/high-risk delivery simulation training’. presented on ‘Scenario-based high-risk pregnancy/high-risk delivery simulation training’, and Lecturer Dr. Sümeyye BAL presented on ‘Scenario-based high-risk newborn simulation training’. They demonstrated their presentations both verbally and through practical application on simulators. The trainers answered participants' questions on the subject.

Participation certificates were presented to the midwives by Prof. Dr. Zeliha KOÇ, Head of the Midwifery Department at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University.
