The Ondokuz Mayıs University Midwifery Community held a meaningful event on April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children's Day, as part of the Midwives Week activities from April 21-28.
In the event, organized within the scope of the Pediatric Health and Diseases internship, midwifery students interacted with children and conducted various educational and fun activities. Activities such as finger painting, coloring, origami, and matching games were organized to support the children's motor skills and provide them with enjoyable time.
Small surprises were offered to the children throughout the event, and it was emphasized that sharing in their happiness was an important experience. The students stated that this interaction with the children was a valuable professional gain.
This event, held as part of Midwives Week, highlighted that the midwifery profession is not only a clinical practice but also a profession that touches the purest moments of life and supports child and family health with a holistic perspective.
The event was deemed to have contributed to raising awareness about child health and strengthening the social aspect of the midwifery profession.
