The Ondokuz Mayıs University Midwifery Society, in collaboration with the Ondokuz Mayıs University Mountaineering and Winter Sports Search and Rescue Society, organized a hike to the summit of Mount Nebiyan.
The event, held in a natural setting, provided participants with both physical activity and teamwork experience during the hike to Mount Nebiyan. In addition to the nature walk, health-based information sessions were conducted at designated rest stops. These sessions focused on cancer screenings, sexual health, and awareness-raising for young adults, aiming to contribute to public health awareness.
The event combined learning, sharing, and professional awareness in a natural environment, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. Students stated that the interaction resulting from the convergence of different fields provided a powerful experience both socially and professionally.
Thanks were extended to Esma Çiçek, President of the Midwifery Society, and Sümeyye Çakır, President of the Mountaineering and Winter Sports Search and Rescue Society, for their efforts in planning the event, and to all the students who participated.
This event was evaluated as strengthening team spirit among students, providing a learning environment integrated with nature, and contributing to social awareness.
